This is my second time with LiveJournal. My previous Journal (under a different name) ran from 2004 to 2006. I enjoyed writing it, but decided I didn't have anything new to say.

I probably still don't, but this Journal will basically be for my friends to read and enjoy although newcomers are welcome:)

For those newcomers, I'm a sportswriter for two Iowa weeklies. One of them has a link:

Some quick things about me for any newcomers. I love writing and reading, watching documentaries, and spending time driving around my home state of Iowa, which my job allows me to do.

It may not be manly, but I have a rose garden. I love my home state of Iowa. I want to see the world someday, but this is my home.

I love all forms of storytelling. I love pro wrestling dearly. When it's done well, it's a wonderful art form.

I'm a quiet and shy person until I feel comfortable around people. I have a wicked sense of humor, which people see as they get to know me. I hope any newcomers to my LiveJournal experience that as well.

I'm glad I'm writing this because when I speak with people sometimes I get nervous and stutter and sometimes say stuff I don't even mean. It's just an oddity of mine.

But there will be none of that here. I'll be calm and cool.
